About Me

My Photo
barefoot hiker
Southeast, United States
I have been hiking for about 50 years, and backpacking for about 40 years. I met a barefoot hiker in 1992 on the Appalachian Trail. He was hiking the entire trail barefooted. I have hiked more than 10,000 miles with a pack on my back, but it wasn't until just a few years ago that I decided to try barefoot hiking. I saw barefoot prints on one of the trails that I frequent and I remembered the AT hiker from years ago. That one memory jolt got me interested in giving it a try and I thoroughly enjoy it. Now I hike barefooted most of the time. Leave the boots in the car and feel the earth beneath your feet.
